Angelo Urrico
AMGA Certified Single Pitch Instructor, AMGA Rock Instructor Course graduate, New York
State Licensed Guide, Wilderness First Responder
Angelo began climbing in 1995 and, soon after, relocated to the Shawangunks where he has been guiding since 1999. In addition to guiding he is also a NYS Certified Teacher.
Angelo enjoys exploring climbing areas throughout the United States. Climbing in at least 12 states, he especially seeks out long traditional routes as found in Eldorado Canyon, Red Rocks, and alpine areas such as the Sierras and North Cascades. In his favorite range, the Tetons, he's climbed most of the classic full-day rock routes including summiting the Grand via three different routes. He is an avid ice climber and occasionally push the envelope at sport climbing areas like Smith Rock, Wild Iris, and the New River Gorge. He has a love of the outdoors and the mountains that continues to grow daily and he only hopes that he has some positive influence on those he comes in contact with.
