Maine native Silas Rossi first discovered his love for the great outdoors while backpacking and hiking some of the most beautiful trails in northern New England.

His natural affinity for the great outdoors developed into a lifetime commitment during his years at the University of Maine. While majoring in Parks, Recreation and Tourism, Rossi quickly recognized the benefit of professional guide training. Rossi began guiding while he was still a student, and since then has focused much of his energy on the pursuit of his IFMGA Certification. An active member of the AMGA, Rossi strives to consistently be on the cutting edge of guiding techniques and practices. Rossi is committed to constantly improving himself as a guide and strives to offer the most rewarding experience possible to his clients.

Silas cut his climbing teeth on the dramatic seaside cliffs of Acadia National Park and the rugged alpine terrain of Maine’s highest peak, Katahdin, where he has currently logged over 70 days of guiding. He has also guided extensively in many of the rock and ice climbing areas throughout the Northeastern US, and has led climbs on several high altitude peaks in Ecuador (including Illiniza Norte, Cayambe, Cotopoxi and Chimborazo). He has led mountaineering trips in the Northern Cascades and guided alpine rock in the High Sierra. He has explored the miles of white granite in the High Sierra, the glaciated peaks of the Northern Cascades, the endless vertical ice of the Canadian Rockies, and as well as some of the extraordinary alpine terrain of the Central Alaska Range.

I love being outside in our natural world and value helping people build a greater respect for our natural environment.
