Our home base is in the Shawangunks!
The Shawangunk Ridge is comprised of the Mohonk
Preserve (northern) and Minnewaska State Park (southern). Both areas
offer great rock climbing, and more.
Located just 90 miles north of New York City, the
Mohonk Preserve provides visitors access to over 6,500 acres –
including cliffs, forests, fields, ponds, and streams – and to a
network of over 100 miles of carriage roads and trails for hiking, running,
mountain biking, horseback riding, and cross-country skiing. Also, the
internationally renowned “Gunks” cliffs offer over 1,000 technical
rock climbing routes.
The Preserve is one of the few private, non-profit (NGO) climbing areas
in the United States, financially supported by members and visitors and
open to the public 365 days a year. If you enjoy your visit, please help

Minnewaska
State Park Preserve is located on Route 44/55, five miles west of
the intersection of Route 299, near New Paltz, New York. Managed by the
Palisades Interstate Park Commission, Minnewaska comprises approximately
12,000 acres of wild and scenic landscape on the Shawangunk ridge. Primarily
a day use area, an admission fee is charged. What you'll find here is
the essence of what the Shawangunks have to offer. Clear streams and lakes,
conglomerate cliffs, waterfalls, miles of carriageways and trails, all
against a backdrop of beautiful vistas, including outstanding views of
the neighboring Catskill Mountains.
